Club News - Public Speaking Comp. 2009

January 2009

The annual Youth Speaks public speaking competition for school children is hosted by the Rotary Clubs of West Woodspring and Weston Super Mare.

This year’s event was particularly successful and took place at Broadoak Community School on 21st and 22nd January when 24 teams from local Primary and Community schools took part. The competition was divided into Junior, Intermediate and Senior age groups. Each team of three had to present a topic of their choice and speak to an assembled audience for a set amount of time. Adjudicators awarded points for presentation, response to a question and the quality of the vote of thanks.
