Club News - Charity Golf Day 2009
July 2009
On Friday 10th July 2009 the Rotary Club of West Woodspring held its annual charity golf day at the Isle of Wedmore Golf Club which proved to be a great success with over 150 players taking part, even the weather played its part by staying dry until the last few teams were just finishing their rounds.
An enjoyable day was had by all with competition fierce but fair and the overall winners being a team entered by Maxwells Accountants from Bridgwater scoring 96 points.

Club President, Malcolm Taylor + The Winners (Maxwells)
With help from the major sponsors - Howard Motors (Weston-super-Mare) and Brewin Dolphin (Tanuton), numerous local businesses and the participants the event raised over £5000 for local, national and international good causes supported by the Club. These include The Children’s Hospice South West, the R.N.L.I. and Young Carers.

Club President with Astra Brand from CHSW
Club President, Malcolm Taylor, paid tribute and expressed the Club’s thanks to those who played, sponsored and organised the event, especially Rotarian Anthony Edmondson and Inner Wheel member Ann Adams, and the members of Inner Wheel for providing much needed subsistence (Bacon Butties) at the half way mark.
Sept 2009 (Update)
Unfortunately the R.N.L.I. were unable to attend on the day, therefore the presentation of their donation was done at our September’s Ladies Night.
