Club News - Charity Golf Day 2007

On Wednesday 12th September the club held its annual Charity Golf day, which had to be postponed from its usual July date because of the weather at that time.
Once again the event proved to be very enjoyable and successful with over 40 teams taking part.
Competition was very close with four teams finishing on 91 points and four on 90. The overall winners had to be decided on count back.
The results were:
1st - BRAGS1 – Bath Rotary Club
2nd - Shout Fore
3rd - Hanson Aggregates
With help from our major sponsors (Howard Motors, Mendip Homes and Ford Brothers), numerous local businesses and the teams themselves the event raised over £8000 for local, national and international good causes.
On the night cheques for £2500 each were presented to Cancer Research and Water Aid.

Club President, John Murphy, paid tribute and expressed the Club’s thanks to those who played, sponsored and organised the event, especially Rotarians David Adams, John Taylor, Inner Wheel District Chairman Ann Adams and the members of Inner Wheel for providing much needed subsistence (Bacon Butties) at the half way mark.
